Let's see here...We have strategy, budget, SEO, PPC, FB, Instagram, Listing sites, Email, Content, Local, Google My Business, Reviews, Text campaigns, Technical SEO, Display, Audiences, Apple, Google, OTT...Oh man, my head is already about to spin. If that's not enough to consider then I do not know what is. And this is the digital that we now live in. More complex and in depth than before.

Early on in my career, I learned one thing...ask!! Ask the questions, ask to see the details, ask ask ask!!! Why, to learn. And it has still taken me some time to understand all of these platforms and mediums, let a lone to know what is new or what is next in Marketing. Be ahead, be in the know, and be willing to learn is how you will be able to make the biggest difference in your marketing strategy.

Apple is making changes in privacy- what will that do to our tracking. Google is ALWAYS changing the algorithms, Facebook is removing mass syndication into Facebook marketplace, Google My Business is Free and not a lot are taking advantage, SEO seems to be really be a front of marketing minds, Artificial Intelligence is increasing every day, and the list just goes on and on...right?

Look, why am I even writing this blog post about "What's New"? Honestly, I am not here to tell you all of the latest and greatest news taking place in Digital Marketing in the Automotive Vertical. I am just trying to say....Pay attention, Stay alert, keep learning as the Digital continues to move rapidly each and every day. Everyone is always trying to get the edge or leverage up to drive the best and most traffic to your website and beyond. And I have to tell you to be careful on "New" "stuff", to use the word "stuff" to be polite. When I see something new or hear about it, I promise you that I do not take someone else's word on a new product....I will spend hours, days, and even months vetting out a new vendor or idea before I launch it.

How to Vett a company? Well, I do not believe that there is just one way or one pattern. I can tell you what I try to do. First, is to know what is my goal or objective with adding or changing a vendor. Typically there will be multiple multiple meetings, zoom / google-meeting calls, email after emails, long phone calls, and that is just where the data and discovery will begin. I can still remember that I was on track to hire a company for some digital strategy, but Yet after a 2 hour conversation for the 3rd time, drawing all over a marker board...I came to a conclusion that they were just re-inventing the wheel that someone else had designed and putting some new terms with it.  This is where you have to be very careful...So, be sure to study your marketing strategy and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Currently, I have been signing up with more and more email subscriptions to deliver me news and latest greatest. Let's be real honest that not one, can KNOW everything, right? Right! I also sign up for arenas like Moz.com, Semrush.com, and https://feeder.com  I will listen to podcast, follow on FB, and any other platform that will give me knowledge and news... I like to try.

To sum up, there is so much that is out there in the Digital World, it is hard to stay in front of it all for sure, but you can and need to make an effort. That is what we are here for. We stay connected with plenty of channels to do this for you as well. Be in the know!!

Did you get what you paid for

In Today's market, buyer beware. You never know what you are getting until you get home and open it up, right? I mean whether that is coming home from the drive through restaurant or the box retail store. "Did they make my sandwich correct this time" is my question every single time I pay and then drive off. What kind of frustrations, waste of time, and possible wasted money too. Now it takes me twice as long to correct.

The same goes for today's marketing. You never know what you really are getting until you have already spent the money and a month into this thing! Cross your fingers right? It is my belief that you should vet every single one of your vendors to make sure they truly are what they say they are. Who are you dealing with, What are they really offering to you, what does the reports look like???

When I talk to vendors, and I do this on the weekly, I can spend 15 minutes or I can spend several hours asking questions. Look this is my money, my clients money and I have to know that this is the real deal. Yeah there is marketing or new vendor with a great idea and you can ask all of the right questions but you still may not know until after you give it a try. Now, I have tried it...get me the results. "Just own it" is a statement that I hear often, and I think that holds a lot of truth and is beneficial to the growth of a company that wants to help clients.

Look, I made the decision to try this, I want to know the actual results...even if they are not the results that I anticipated or wanted to get. Sure we all want solid above par traffic  coming to our sites and then converting on the best CTA and turning into a sale. Sure!!! But, I also want to know if that did not work.."OK". Then I can move on, it happens.

Most agencies want to sugar coat the results or divert the reporting, so you don't even see the reporting. They will point your eyes to everything else, except the results...the real deal results. And no, I am not a fan to see your fancy reports with colors and "stuff" all over the place and I have no clue what I am looking at. Give me Google Analytics, give me raw data and let's work from there. Now, I can make a decision, not 6 months down the road and thousands of dollars blown out the window!! Exhausting.

Digital Marketing for an automotive dealership can be complex, challenging, and very competitive to say the least. But here at Klutch you will take notice that if you ask...we will get you an answer...if we do not know....we will find out. That's just what we do. We do not believe in throwing things on the wall to see if they will stick. We will give you real, we will give you honest, we will give you the time that you deserve as a client. That goes for all of our services, we are transparent in every way. Whether in our SEO, Google My business, or in our A-Z Marketing and managing your vendors- we will make sure that your money is like our money. We will make sure that your vendors are doing what you are paying them to do.
